Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy describes the local storage technologies (cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage) used by the website neednerd.dev (the "Site"). It is drafted in accordance with the guidelines on the use of cookies issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) and the GDPR.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored by the browser on the user's device.
Similar technologies such as localStorage and
sessionStorage serve similar purposes and are covered by this
Policy.
Storage technologies can be classified as:
- Technical / strictly necessary — no consent required. They allow the Site to function or store user preferences related to browsing.
- Functional — not strictly necessary, they enable extra features at the user's request. They require explicit consent.
- Profiling / advertising — the Site does not use them.
2. Cookies and local storage used by the Site
2.1 Third-party cookies — Cal.com (booking calendar)
The Site embeds the inline widget of Cal.com (Cal.com,
Inc., United States) to allow call bookings. When the calendar loads on
pages that include it, cookies and localStorage entries may
be set on the app.cal.com domain so that the widget can
function (session, time zone, selected slot).
| Category | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cal.com technical cookies | Third-party cookies + localStorage (app.cal.com) | Widget functioning: session, time zone, selected slot. | Variable (session / persistent) |
Full details of cookies used by Cal.com are available in Cal.com's official Cookie Policy and Cal.com's Privacy Policy.
3. How to disable cookies
Users who do not want cookies set on their device can:
- Block third-party cookies globally in the browser (option available in all modern browsers). This prevents Cal.com from setting cookies but the widget may not work properly — in that case, booking remains available by email at ciao@neednerd.dev.
- Delete already-set cookies through the browser's privacy settings.
- Use incognito / private browsing to avoid cookie persistence between sessions.
4. Tools the Site does NOT use
For full transparency, the Site does not use:
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or any other analytics tool
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel, TikTok, LinkedIn, X or other social pixels
- Advertising or retargeting tools
- Heatmaps, session recording (Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, etc.)
- External font CDNs (fonts are self-hosted)
- Profiling cookies of any kind
5. References
- Regulation (EU) 2016/679 — GDPR
- Cookie guidelines from the Italian Data Protection Authority
- For broader personal data processing, please refer to the Site's Privacy Policy.
In short: the only third-party cookie/storage is the Cal.com booking widget. No analytics, no profiling, no advertising. If you want to browse without cookies, block third-party cookies in your browser and use email to book.
